The Life Journey- Experiences of Change

Box of Chocolates Philosophy

Is there a philosophy out there that explains events of life as a constant flux of change?

People learn by seeing patterns, building memories and experience, and predicting those patterns from what they have observed. Mathematical computation always fails to see the natural entropy, that all things change sooner or later. We are locked in this cycle of creation and destruction, a journey of personal and epic proportions, lived out and witnessed from one perspective. Those changes in life are the moments that change us, and the causation aligned with those changes can throw many of us for a loop. The inevitable curve ball, the unexpected interference.

Like mama said, life is like a box of chocolates...

The fun of the roulette game of life is that you don't know what comes next. We often get angry at the interior or exterior factors when our prediction doesn't follow through. The expectation can lead to disappointment because our observations are often wrong or obscured...we simply don't know all the factors of life. So how can we get upset in discord or misfortune when we know that everything ultimately breaks down and reforms.

Many will hold faith in the things they believe are true, instead of keeping a healthy sense of doubt and uncertainty. What if there was a way of thinking that could take this factor of random circumstances and drive to change and mutate it? What if we could understand the random chaos and entropy so that even the abrupt and shocking events like a friends suicide or an unexpected tornado can be explained.

Could there be a way of understanding the universe that calms the unsettled stress of uncertain and impending suffering?

Is it certitude in our future we want, or just to avoid unseen and painful surprises?

Philosophy of the Changing Journey

Political strife is contagious and leads to power grabbing. What if there was a chain of thought that could bring levelheadedness to the spread of hyper emotion that occurs in society whenever a shocking or unforeseen chaos happens. Change is all around us, as power and money and knowledge shift, yet we cannot always cope with this change?

Why are some people compelled to fight for shifts in leadership?

Fear of change stems from the inability to control circumstances, but nobody can control their circumstances. That is the nature of existence. There will always be another fly in your soup. There is no point in refusing to have soup, the fly will interrupt whatever you decide to eat.

Leave it to the strange ineffable existence of the universe to find some new way to annoy, maim or harm you. Why have we not yet figured out how to overcome the sense of dread when we face new changes in life--- what allows some to keep swimming and some to drown, and other not to even be born. Could there be a state of mind better equipped to handle change that we can acquire?

With all the wisdom of our past, and the strong individuals throughout it that somehow showed fearless doubt and certainly, or some innate knowledge that gave them a determinism, how can we hope to make a mark in the ever-rippling waters of time? Are our experiences valuable in the ultimate journey of existence? Do the unknown changes that we face have purpose, a purpose still unseen until a time when we can wholly reflect on that journey?
