NUCLEAR SHADOWS
The pending state of the globe in an environment of nuclear weaponry is one that rests on the edge of chaos. The potential for all-out catastrophe is one distant in our minds, but is still an ever-looming shadow we sense. With such powerful weapons as thermonuclear and hypersonic missiles with inter-continental range, every one of our lives could be in the cross hairs.
Yet we continue on, living in a twilight of peace and growth.
Does the hypothetical clock ever reach midnight, or will the shadows of ICBM's casting over us direct us into a future of instability and omnipresence potential for cataclysm? If the 20th century has taught us about the potential of human discovery, hopefully the 21th century does not teach us the folly and hubris of that discovery. Getting too close to the power of the sun, we may be torched like Icarus.
