To aspire for more is human nature, and so is competition. Intrespecific competition allowed our ancestors to overcome our distant cousins and the predators that hunted them. The only means to overcome others was to work together and create allies. To strive along with companions makes the frivolous journey of life more meaningful, and bring new possibilities.
Intraspecific competition allows mankind to compete within its social organizations, bringing much suffering but also progress. The competition for real estate created skyscrapers; the competition for power... nuclear fusion and IMCB's. Yet competition becomes a force for change, change that has benefited and harmed the human condition in innumerous ways.
