Macro Study: Tomatillo Husk

Exposed Under-structures

The skeletal remains of a tomatillo husk are hollow and delicate. Like the frame of a tumble weed, the residue of vitality is a dry and bare structure.

The seeds and flesh of the tomatillo have dispersed and been returned to the earth, yet the intricate and fragile sphere still holds intact. Up close it is stunning display of xylem and veins, the paths of water through the fruit of the tomato become the integrity to holds its form together. Mostly empty space, it is not only an object but also a shadow of what it once was.
