The force of water over decades of erosion leaves a spectacular secret in the woods of the Tennessee valley. Cummins Falls has an elusive curve in the bend of the Blackburn Fork of the Cumberland River, and the short hike to the precipice of the stone ledge above, leaves one at a misty and contemplative cropping and view over the waters below.
Spring at the cusp of enlivenment, the waters curdle with vibrant energy, a premonition for the vitality of life to come. Summer will invite families and lovers to the waters in aims of a cooling rewind during the hot days, the same as they've done for generations. The waters at steady a pace as time, the waterfall is both a place of tension, and release as the years go by.
